Baby tiger named
Yesterday (8 March 2012), South African singer Ray Dylan joined
us at Vredenheim for a very special ceremony where we officially
named our beautiful baby tiger cub after Ray's well-known song
"Jessica", which he performed for the naming ceremony. Every man has
a Jessica. It's not his wife, nor girlfriend. It's just that perfect
girl in his eyes. When we saw how perfect our tiger was, we we saw
that perfect girl called Jessica.

Jessica's naming function.
Members of 'Huis Horison', a facility for those with
disabilities, were our esteemed guests at this invite-only event. A
wonderful time was had by all, with lots of clapping, singing and
dancing along to Ray's songs.

We'd like to thank the members of the press from Die Burger,
Eikestadnuus, Bokradio and Show me Stellenbosch for attending.
Thanks also to Myburgh, from Intello Acoustics, and Nadia Louw who
performed with Ray. Big thanks to Ray for being such a great sport
throughout the day - he absolutely loved our tiger cub, Jessica, and
our Angus bulls! We loved having you with us and we hope that
everyone comes to meet little Jessica soon.

Our Big Cats Park
Vredenheim’s owners, originally game farmers from Dundee in
Kwazulu Natal, have a great passion for big cats and decided to open
a Big Cats Park at Vredenheim to educate the public about these
majestic animals and their behaviours.
The park, which was fully approved by Vredenheim’s
neighbours, the local municipality and magistrate, and Cape Nature,
is currently home to 3 brown lions, 2 white lions, 2 lynx, 1
cheetah, 1 leopard and a 2 month old tiger cub.
The park is open seven days per week, from 09h00 until 16h30.
Entrance costs R50 per adult, R30 per pensioner and R30 per child.
Guided tours are offered daily at 10h00, 11h15, 13h00, 14h30 and
16h00.
